For ball to qualify for official match play International Table Tennis Federation has given the following criteria
- Be spherical with a diameter of 40mm
- Weigh 2.7 grams
- Made of celluloid or similar plastic
- Be white or orange or matt
These balls are more commonly called poly star and has a 3 Star rating.
